Copyright Classroom is a gamified web resource for learning about and teaching copyright. It is also a copyright guide where you can find all the information you may need about copyright, and a resource bank with study tips, video clips, checklists, and much more.
The educational material in Copyright Classroom has been produced by the Irish Copyright Licensing Agency (ICLA) based on work developed by its sister CMO, the Finnish copyright organisation Kopiosto, in collaboration with the Finnish National Agency for Education, the Ministry of Education and Culture, and the Trade Union of Education in Finland (OAJ). For Ireland the material has been adapted by ICLA to reflect the local legal and licensing frameworks. All the material has been developed by experts in education and copyright.
The content of the website encourages the development of extensive copyright know-how. The study of copyright is ideal as part of multidisciplinary learning units and in connection with all projects and subjects.
In the Play and Learn section you’ll find game-like tasks and materials for different educational levels.
In the Video Room you’ll find short videos about copyright, a checklist generator as well as checklists for all kinds of projects.
In the Teacher’s Resource Bank, you’ll find teaching tips, a guide for teachers, and a collection of resources that you can use to support your teaching, including templates for citations, checklists, and certificates.
In the Information section you will find information about copyright and usage licenses for schools and colleges, as well as frequently asked questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please contact us.
The Creative Process guides you through the process of independent creation step by step, and provides relevant instructions on copyright, information search, and critical literacy.
